1. The Three-Skilling Yellow
The Three-Skilling Yellow, is misprinted stamps published by the Swedish government that printed firstly in 1855. Even the normal postages (which should be blue-green) are also included rare stamps. Three-Skilling Yellow is one of the rarest stamps and only one left. In 1984 these stamps sold for 977,500 Swiss francs by David Feldman. In 1990 the price reached one million U.S. dollars, then in 1996 sold for $ 2.3. And each time of it’s sold, it always scored as the most expensive stamps in the world.
2. The First-Two Mauritius
The first two stamps of Mauritius (1847) are the first two series of stamps issued by the British colonial government. Only one left for the first edition with the condition of unused stamps and three stamps of the second edition also with unused condition. In 1993 David Feldman auction Mauritius stamps owned by Hiroyuki Kanai produces the highest record. The first is an orange stamp sold for $ 1,072,260, and the second at $ 1,148,850.
3. The Inverted Jenny
The inverted Jenny is an American stamp printed in 1918 with Curtiss JN-4 plane picture and it is accidentally printed upside down, this is probably the most famous misprint in the world of American philately. Only 100 misprinted stamps are left, making it one of the most valuable stamps misprinted; one full block of inverted Jenny stamps sold at auction Robert A. Siegel in October 2005 for U.S. $ 2.7 million. And in November 2007 an inverted Jenny stamps sold for U.S. $ 977.500. at December 2007 a mint stamps (unused / not used) with very good condition sold to a Wall Street executive for $ 825,000.
4. One Cent Black on Magenta
British Guiana One Cent Black on Magenta (1856) is among the rarest and most expensive stamps. Stamps printed on low quality paper in magenta with black ink, due to emergency conditions. Only one left in the entire world. That makes this stamp so unique and no other else ever found. At 1980 has been auctioned to John Dupont for $ 935,000.
5. U.S. Franklin Z-Grill
U.S. Franklin Z-Grill, 1867. This is the rarest of all postage stamps in United States, only found 2 pieces remaining. In 1988 a stamp "Z-Grill" 1 cent in 1868 sold for $ 930,000.
6. Hawaiian Missionaries
Hawaiian Missionaries, 1851 was the first Hawaiian stamps. The "Hawaiian Missionaries" roughly printed with thin paper and poor quality, so only a few stamps that have been rescued and then become very rare stamps. The lowest nominal of 2 cents of 1851 are the rarest of the entire series, and only remain 16 pieces. A 2 cent Missionary stamp in mint condition (unused) sold for $ 760,000 and $ 225,000 for used condition.
7. The Penny Black
The Penny Black, was the first official adhesive postage stamp in the world, the British Government issued on 1 May 1840 and put into use on 6 May. The Penny Black is not really rare stamps, but including the most expensive. Total print 286,700 sheets of stamps printed with 68.808 million. The unused Penny Black stamps according to the 2001 Scott catalog price of $ 3,000 and the Used (already used) for $ 180 per sheet.
